Discover the powers of water

Health and wellness in a breathtaking natural setting
The Balneario de la Virgen is set in the natural reserve of Mesa River’s sinuous canyon, protected by high limestone walls, where numerous species of birds of prey nest, and flanked by the river’s crystal-clear waters, making this resort and its surroundings a privileged place to enjoy nature, outdoor sports and the mineral-medicinal waters of its many hot springs.

Hot springs
The waters of the Balneario de la Virgen were declared to be of a mineral-medicinal nature in 1869, although there are texts that date their use by local inhabitants to around the 2nd century BC, in Roman times. They named these springs nymph waters, attributing their healing powers to the nymphs. The waters emerge at a temperature of 30 to 34 degrees, and an approximate flow of 2 million litres per day, total amount of the 5 springs in our Balneario, which are called: Pilas, S. Antonio, S. José, Primitivo and the Natural thermal pond, which is the largest found in the area, and unique both for its medicinal properties and its natural beauty.
